Lahore: The Punjab government has introduced the Parwaz Card programme to support young people seeking employment abroad by offering interest-free financial assistance for initial expenses.
Under the scheme, eligible applicants will receive support to cover costs such as visa fees, medical tests, air tickets, and other essential pre-departure expenses. Officials said the programe aims to ease financial barriers and help skilled youth access international job opportunities.
According to authorities, up to 100,000 eligible candidates will benefit from the scheme. Applicants must already have a verified job offer from an overseas employer to qualify.
To be eligible, applicants must be at least 18 years old, hold permanent residency in Punjab, and possess a valid overseas employment offer issued by an authorised foreign employer.
The government said the application process will be transparent and well-structured to ensure that deserving candidates can easily benefit from the program.
Officials noted that many Pakistanis face difficulties securing overseas employment due to high upfront costs. The Parwaz Card initiative is being seen as a major step toward addressing these challenges, while also helping increase employment opportunities and foreign remittances.
Details regarding the official application process will be announced soon on the Punjab government’s website. However, prospective applicants have been advised to prepare the following documents in advance:
- Verified overseas job offer
- Proof of residence in Punjab
- Identity documents and age verification
A government spokesperson said the Parwaz Card programme will provide financial security to young people, enabling them to pursue overseas employment opportunities with greater confidence.
