Rain and Snowfall Expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan

Rain and Snowfall Forecast for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan

Rain and snowfall are expected in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Gilgit-Baltistan over the next two to four days, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The Met Office said that areas including Malakand, Dir, Malam Jabba, Swat, Kalam, Battagram, Kohistan, and adjoining regions of Gilgit-Baltistan are likely to receive rain, while upper and mountainous areas may experience snowfall.

The PMD has advised citizens and tourists to take precautionary measures, especially those traveling to hilly and mountainous regions, due to the risk of slippery roads and reduced visibility.

The Met Office further stated that a new spell of intermittent rain and snowfall is expected to affect most parts of the country from mid-next week.

According to the forecast, this weather system will enter the upper regions of the country from January 16 and is likely to continue until January 19.

The PMD added that a weak westerly weather system will enter the country, with its intensity expected to increase from January 20, potentially affecting most parts of Pakistan by January 21.
