Rain and snowfall forecast for parts of Pakistan: Met Office

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain and snowfall in several parts of the country, while cold and dry weather is expected to continue in most regions.

According to the Met Office, Islamabad is likely to remain cold and dry. Very cold conditions are expected in Murree, Galliyat and surrounding areas.

Most districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa will experience cold and dry weather, including Peshawar. However, rain is expected in Dir, Battagram, Torghar, Mansehra, Haripur, Abbottabad, Bajaur, Orakzai, Khyber, Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, DI Khan, Tank, and North and South Waziristan.

Snowfall is also likely over mountains in the upper districts of the province.

The Met Office said most areas of Sindh and Balochistan will remain cold and dry. Meanwhile, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to experience cold weather with partly cloudy skies.

Authorities have advised citizens in hilly areas to take precautionary measures amid the expected cold wave and snowfall.
