PESHAWAR: At least 19 people were killed and 15 others injured in rain and floods related incidents in past two days in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, reported Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
According to the PDMA Report, out of 19, 11 were children, 4 women and four men.
According to the PDMA report, a total of 61 houses were damaged due to wind and rain, in which 37 houses were partially destroyed and 24 houses were completely destroyed.
Rain accidents were reported Kohat, Bajaur, Chitral Upper and Lower, Dir Upper, Kohistan Upper and Lower, Abbottabad, Haripur, Swat, Charsadda, Swabi, South Waziristan and Hangu districts of the province.
Relief operations are going on in the affected areas, small and large missionaries are being deployed to open the blocked highways, PDMA, district administration and relief teams are engaged in relief activities in the affected districts.
According to the sources, the PDMA has also directed the district administration of the affected districts to provide immediate financial assistance to the victims. The report states that tourists should avoid traveling to tourist destinations until the situation returns to normal.
According to spokesperson PDMA, the Emergency Operation Center is fully operational and public/tourists can contact 1700 for any untoward incident, weather conditions, road closures and guidance.
It should be remembered that the PDMA report has stated that 19 people died and 15 people were injured due to rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
