Rao Anwar released in Naqeebullah, illegal weapon cases


KARACHI: Former Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir Rao Anwar – involved in the murder of Naqeebullah Mehsoon, has been released on Saturday.
The release came after a special anti-terrorism court in Karachi signed the release orders of Rao Anwar in two cases pertaining to the extra-judicial killing of Naqeebullah Mehsood and possession of illegal weapons and explosives.
Earlier, the court approved bail applications of the former police officer in both the cases ordering him to submit surety bonds of Rs. 1 million in each case.
Meanwhile, a notification to declare the Rao Anwar’s house sub-jail has been withdrawn and the security has been taken back.
