KARACHI: Reham Khan, wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, arrived at Karachi’s Jinnah Hospital on Saturday to meet patients affected by the recent spell of scorching heat but it was too late as her visit came after all such patients were discharged from the hospice.
Dr Seemi Jamali, a senior doctor and in-charge of the Emergency Ward, said that all heatstroke patients who were under treatment have been discharged.
Speaking to media persons after arriving at Jinnah Hospital, Reham Khan said: “It is a follow-up visit after Imran Khan’s first visit.”
“I have come on totally humanitarian ground as patients are still coming in the Jinnah Hospital due to a second spell of heatwave,” she said.
She urged rulers to come out of their air-conditioned rooms and feel the sufferings of the general public.
“Nobody is willing to accept responsibility for so many deaths in Karachi. Federal government, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and provincial government are all responsible,” she contended.
More than 1250 people died in Karachi due to heatstroke last week. But the weather has cooled over the last few days.
