Noted actor Shaukat Zaidi passed away on Saturday at the age of 72 after a protracted illness.
According to media reports, Zaidi was receiving the kidney treatment from Lahore’s private hospital.
Apart from his prolific acting career, he also remained associated with the field of journalism from 1970 to 1998.
He had also written dramas for theatres for 10 years.
Though he went on to perform in many dramas, he stole the spotlight by performing many characters in the renowned TV programme “Hum Sub Umeed Se Hain”.
During the show, he performed the character of a person representing the poorest segment of society.
