PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has issued notices to the Chief Minister and Speaker of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, seeking their response within one week regarding contempt of court pleas filed for failing to administer oaths to elected members on reserved seats.
Justices S.M. Attique Shah and Waqar Ahmed presided over the case, with the applicant’s lawyer presenting arguments before the court.
The applicant highlighted that despite the detailed verdict and the lapse of 14 days, elected members had not been administered the oath.
Justice questioned the KP government’s failure to administer oaths to the elected members following the court’s detailed verdict.
Subsequently, the court issued notices to Ali Amin Gandapur and the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly.
