Residents block Super highway in protest killing of youth by police in Karachi


KARACHI: The residents of Khilji Goth in Karachi Saturday staged a protest demonstration against killing of a 17-year-old boy during a police raid against drug dealers.
According to residents of the area, A 17-year old Bilal was killed and 18-year old Shakeel was injured in police aerial firing while leaving the area after raids.
They said that had arrested 10 people during raid. The injured was shifted to hospital, while the resident put the dead body of Bilal on road and blocked the Super Highway.
The protesters also pelted stones at police mobiles and at the Gadap police station. Some policemen were also injured.
According to Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir Shiraz Nazir police were conducting an operation in Khilji Goth against drug dealers when they started shooting.
The police used tear gas shelling to disperse the protesters.
