On Tuesday, the Russian Embassy in Islamabad Pakistan announced that Pakistan has received its first shipment of Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) from Russia, marking Pakistan as the second largest buyer of LPG.
The embassy said the shipment was successfully delivered to Pakistan with Iran’s help, which came after an earlier deal of crude oil between Pakistan and Russia. The embassy further stated that Russia has successfully delivered the first shipment of 100,000 metric tons of LPG to Pakistan through Iran’s Sarakhs special zone, making it the second-largest South Asian country.
The embassy further added that “consultation on a second shipment is also underway”, but they did not mention whether, in future shipment deliveries, Iran would be involved, also they didn’t mention the cost of LPG that Pakistan is buying. On the other hand, Pakistan has mentioned that they are buying LPG from Russia in the Chinese yuan.
