On Thursday, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Asim Munir made it clear that the safety and security of every Pakistani is extremely important and cannot be put at risk under any circumstances.
He shared these thoughts during a discussion about the repatriation and deportation of illegal foreigners living in Pakistan at the National Security Workshop, as reported by the military’s media affairs wing.
During the event, participants engaged in an interactive session with the army chief. COAS Munir expressed that the Armed Forces of Pakistan, along with its security and intelligence units, have effectively battled terrorism despite facing support from hostile forces. He also expressed confidence that success would continue with the support of the Pakistani people.
COAS Munir stressed the vital role of intellectuals and civil society in keeping the public, especially the youth, informed and resolute against a “hostile propaganda onslaught” targeting Pakistan’s state institutions.
Officials also provided information on various measures taken to combat illegal activities, including smuggling, electricity theft, drug issues, border control, and the repatriation of illegal foreigners from Pakistan.
The army chief highlighted the positive economic impact resulting from various measures, notably the Special Investment Facilitation Cell.
He concluded by saying, “The Army is actively involved in supporting national and provincial efforts across different areas, working in coordination with other state institutions for the collective welfare of the Pakistani people. We are a resilient nation that has overcome challenges over time in our pursuit of peace and stability.”
