LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Leader Salman Akram Raja Arrested During Election Rigging Protest in Lahore
Salman Akram Raja, a prominent member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was apprehended in Lahore while spearheading a demonstration against alleged election irregularities in the recent general elections.
Speaking to the media minutes before his arrest, he said that the confession of the Rawalpindi Commissioner has proved them right about the rigging.

“I stand with the people, and will continue to raise the voice of truth,” said Salman Akram Raja at the time of his arrest.
The PTI is holding nationwide protests against widespread rigging during the February 8 general elections.
According to PTI, the party led by Imran Khan is protesting what it describes as “unprecedented, massive, brazen rigging” that significantly reduced its victory from 180 National Assembly seats and a two-thirds majority in Parliament to half the count.
