QUETTA – Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has said that national unity is the strongest answer to any threat against Pakistan’s independence. Speaking at the flag-hoisting ceremony in Quetta on Thursday, he said the country’s enemies had tried to undermine its freedom, but the armed forces gave a powerful and fitting response.
Bugti said that both political and military leadership had come together, setting a strong example of national unity. He reminded the people that the citizens of Balochistan had always been willing to sacrifice for the country’s safety. He vowed that the entire nation would stand shoulder to shoulder with the army like an unbreakable wall.
The chief minister strongly criticized the small group of armed elements attempting to break Pakistan. He accused them of ignoring Baloch traditions and killing innocent people. He stressed that the nation must respond to terrorists with courage. Bugti said that parliament, religious leaders, and all sections of society must unite to defeat the menace of terrorism.
Meanwhile, in Dera Bugti, an Independence Day rally was held to celebrate the spirit of national unity. The rally began from Sangseela Mor and ended at Pakistan Chowk. It drew large crowds, and the streets echoed with slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad.”
Bugti’s remarks come at a time when political parties, including PTI, are being urged to show solidarity on core national issues. He said the fight against terrorism and threats to sovereignty requires national unity above all else.
