SC Registrar’s Office objects to plea seeking President Alvi’s disqualification

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Registrar’s Office has raised objections to a petition filed for the disqualification of President Arif Alvi.

The president cannot be made a party under Article 248 of the Constitution, the objection stated.

It added that the petition has not raised a question of public interest and fundamental rights.

The points raised over the application of Article 184(3) are not satisfactory.

The petitioner has neither approached any other relevant forum nor given a reason for not approaching any other forum, the office objected.

The name of the lawyer who drafted the petition was not disclosed.

A citizen named Imtiaz filed the petition for the disqualification of President Arif Alvi.
