LAHORE: The Supreme Court (SC) has dismissed an appeal seeking to invalidate the allotment of 27 acres of land in Bahawalpur.
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa presided over the hearing of the plea filed by a citizen named Iqbal Gujar in SC Lahore.
The plea argued that the land in Bahawalpur was allocated to a private individual named Mijazi Begum, despite it being government-owned. The applicant contended that the Punjab government’s allocation of official land to a private individual was illegal and should be revoked.
During the hearing, the CJP cautioned the lawyer against making speeches and urged them to focus on legal arguments. He noted that this matter had previously come before the SC.
Subsequently, the court dismissed the plea, deeming the appeal ineligible for consideration.
