SC takes decision to indict Daniyal Aziz in contempt of court case

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Tuesday has decided to indict Minister for Privatization Daniyal Aziz on March 13 in the contempt of court case.
The case was initiated against the minister on February 2 over his alleged anti-judiciary speeches and remarks made during television shows.
The SC bench had stated that Danyial Aziz had been found guilty of contempt of court as per TV recordings and newspapers’ clippings dated 9th of June-2017, 15th and 31st of Dec-2017.
In his reply submitted in the court on on Monday, Daniyal Aziz blamed media for misrepresentation of his statements and out of context reporting.
Aziz claimed that he had always respected the courts and talks within the limits of ethical codes on judicial cases.
Dissatisfied with Aziz’s reply today, the apex court decided to indict him on March 13.
