All schools in Sindh, whether they are private or public, will be closed on Monday, August 26, in observance of Imam Hussain’s (RA) Chehlum. The provincial government issued a notification on Friday, explaining that the closure decision was made by a steering committee from the education department
On Monday, the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) will be observed throughout Sindh with great respect and religious fervor, under tight security. This event concludes a 40-day mourning period following the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his 72 companions in the Battle of Karbala on the 10th of Muharram in 680AD. During the Chehlum, mourning processions featuring Alam, Tazia, and Zuljinah will take place in various cities across the province.
