PESHAWAR / LAKKI MARWAT: Security forces killed six terrorists in operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan on Monday. A policeman also embraced martyrdom during the confrontations, according to statements from the military and Levies officials.
An intelligence-based operation was conducted in the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan district. This mission targeted militants linked to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that forces located the terrorists and engaged them. Two militants were killed, and one was injured and taken into custody. Weapons and ammunition were also seized.
The ISPR confirmed that these individuals were involved in attacks on security forces and the killing of innocent civilians. Security personnel continued a clearance operation in the area to eliminate any remaining threats.
Bannu Clash Leads to Police Martyrdom
In Bannu, two armed terrorists attacked Head Constable Ali Bahadar Khan near Kiri Bridge on Haved Road. The policeman, critically injured, was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
Following the attack, Quick Response Force (QRF) commandos were deployed to pursue the assailants. Police tracked them to the Miryan area, where they took shelter in a house. The militants resisted and fired at the officers, injuring another policeman, Amanullah Khan.
Reinforcements, including counter-terrorism commandos and officers from nearby stations, were called in. Police effectively responded with support from an armored vehicle, neutralizing both attackers.
One of the militants was identified as Safeer alias Hamza. He was the cousin of Ibrahim alias Zarar, a wanted militant commander. Both terrorists were involved in numerous cases of militancy. Police recovered pistols and ammunition from the scene.
Levies Foil Attack in Qila Abdullah
In Qila Abdullah, two suspected attackers died in a bomb explosion while attempting to target a Levies station in the Mazai Adha area. According to Levies officials, the bomb exploded prematurely in an orchard behind the station.
Assistant Commissioner Shahek Baloch said the attackers were carrying the device on a motorcycle. The blast killed them instantly, leaving their bodies unrecognizable. Pistols were also found at the site. This was the fourth bombing incident in Qila Abdullah in the past two weeks.
A bomb disposal squad was called to secure the area, and investigations are ongoing.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for their successful operation in Kulachi. They expressed appreciation for the bravery and dedication shown by officers and personnel during the mission.
