Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan on February 28, 2025. The mission targeted militants in Ghulam Khan Kalay based on intelligence reports about their presence.
During the North Waziristan operation, security forces engaged the hideout of the terrorists. In the exchange of fire, six militants were neutralized. The troops also recovered weapons and ammunition from the dead extremists. These terrorists were involved in several attacks on security forces and had killed innocent civilians in the past.
After the successful action, a sanitization operation is underway. The forces are searching for any remaining militants in the area. Pakistan’s military remains committed to wiping out terrorism from the country.
President, PM Applaud Security Forces
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the security forces for their bravery in the North Waziristan operation. President Zardari, in a statement, paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation. He also appreciated the forces for eliminating six terrorists.
Prime Minister Shehbaz reaffirmed the government’s resolve to eradicate terrorism. He assured the nation that the sacrifices of the armed forces would never go in vain.
Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi also praised the troops for their swift action. He stated that by eliminating the six terrorists, the security forces had successfully foiled a major terrorist plot in North Waziristan.
