Security forces killed at least three terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Turbat region of Balochistan, the military confirmed on Tuesday. The operation was launched after receiving confirmed intelligence about the presence of militants in the area.
According to a statement by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), troops engaged the terrorist hideout with precision. As a result, three khwarij were neutralized. The ISPR used the word “sent to hell” to describe the elimination of the terrorists.
Security personnel also recovered weapons and ammunition from the dead militants. These terrorists had been involved in several violent activities. They had targeted security forces and also killed innocent citizens.
After the successful action, the army launched a sweeping sanitisation operation. This follow-up effort aimed to ensure that no remaining threats were present in the area. The military reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating terror attacks in Pakistan and bringing lasting peace to the country.
Meanwhile, terror incidents have sharply increased in 2025. The Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) reported a 42% rise in attacks during January. This marked a major spike compared to the previous month.
The think tank recorded 74 militant operations across the country in just one month. These terror attacks in Pakistan led to 91 deaths. Among the dead were 35 soldiers, 20 civilians, and 36 terrorists.
Another 117 people were injured. This included 53 members of the security forces, 54 civilians, and 10 militants. The report showed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) remained the most affected province, with Balochistan close behind.
In KP’s settled regions, militants carried out 27 attacks. These resulted in 19 deaths, which included 11 personnel from security forces, six civilians, and two militants.
The tribal belt of KP, once part of FATA, saw 19 militant incidents. These deadly events caused 46 fatalities. The breakdown was 13 security officials, eight civilians, and 25 terrorists.
Balochistan faced 24 separate attacks during January. In these incidents, 26 lives were lost. This figure included 11 soldiers, six civilians, and nine militants.
The wave of terror attacks in Pakistan continues to challenge national security. However, the armed forces remain determined to dismantle terror networks and prevent further bloodshed.
