In Bajaur, security forces successfully foiled an infiltration attempt on the Pak-Afghan border, killing five terrorists. The incident occurred on the night between August 18 and 19, in Bajaur district, where a group of Khawarij attempted to cross the border.
According to ISPR, In Bajaur security forces spotted the movement of these terrorists and responded swiftly. In the exchange of fire, five terrorists linked to Fitnah-ul-Khawarij were neutralized, while four others sustained injuries.
Unfortunately, three brave soldiers were martyred during the intense firefight. Naik Inayat Khan, Lance Naik Umar Hayat, and Sepoy Waqar Khan gave their lives defending the nation. Their sacrifice strengthens the resolve of Bajaur security forces to protect Pakistan’s borders.
The ISPR emphasized that Pakistan has urged the Afghan government to ensure proper border management. It is expected that the interim Afghan authorities will take their responsibilities seriously. Security forces remain committed to safeguarding the country’s borders. The ISPR reiterated that the sacrifices of our soldiers only deepen our determination to keep the nation safe.
