Security forces killed four terrorists in KP during two separate intelligence-based operations conducted in Dera Ismail Khan and Mohmand districts, according to a statement issued by the military’s media wing on Thursday.
The operations took place during the night of June 3 and 4 after reports about the presence of militants in the two districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the statement, security forces launched an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan and engaged militants at their location. After an intense exchange of fire, two terrorists were killed.
In a separate operation in Mohmand district, security personnel carried out another intelligence-based operation and neutralized two more militants during a successful engagement.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed militants. The statement said they had been involved in several terrorist activities in the area.
The military reiterated its commitment to continuing counter-terrorism efforts under the Azm-e-Istehkam campaign, which was approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan. It said security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue operations to eliminate terrorism and ensure national security.
Pakistan has witnessed a rise in militant attacks, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, since 2021.
The government has carried out a series of counter-terrorism operations in response to the security challenges. Officials say these efforts are aimed at dismantling militant networks and improving stability in affected regions.
Despite diplomatic engagements and multiple rounds of talks with the Afghan Taliban administration, security concerns along the border have remained a major challenge. Pakistani authorities continue to emphasize the need for effective action against militant groups operating in the region.
