Security forces killed seven Indian-backed Khawarij in Balochistan’s Sherani district during an intelligence-based operation (IBO), the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Friday. The militants, identified as operatives of Fitna-ul-Khawarij sponsored by India, were neutralized in a fierce exchange of fire on October 1.
According to ISPR, a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the terrorists. A sanitisation operation is still ongoing in the region to ensure that no residual threat remains.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the successful action of the security forces, declaring that Pakistan’s enemies would never succeed in undermining the country’s sovereignty. He stated that Indian-backed Khawarij in Balochistan’s Sherani district had been defeated and vowed to continue eliminating terrorism from the country.
This latest development comes just two days after ISPR reported the killing of 18 militants belonging to Fitna-ul-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan in Quetta and Kech, while four others were arrested in Khuzdar.

The Sherani district has remained tense in recent days. Earlier, militants launched simultaneous attacks on police and Levies stations in Mir Ali Khel, the district headquarters bordering Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. More than 15 heavily armed assailants targeted the Levies headquarters and a nearby police station, resulting in the martyrdom of Constable Altaf and injuries to two Levies personnel, Kalu Khan and Wahid Khan.
The attackers also set fire to the Levies headquarters and a vehicle parked inside before fleeing after a half-hour-long gun battle.
