In a recent operation conducted by the Security Forces in North Waziristan District on the night spanning March 17 and 18, at least eight terrorists were neutralized, including a notorious commander linked to the Mir Ali attack, as reported by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Monday.
The operation, prompted by intelligence reports indicating terrorist presence, led to an intense confrontation resulting in the elimination of eight terrorists, among them the high-value target known as Sehra, also identified as Janan, who masterminded the assault on a security forces’ post in Mir Ali on March 16. Sehra had been a prime target for law enforcement agencies due to his involvement in various terrorist activities.
The ISPR emphasized the ongoing efforts to cleanse the area of any remaining threats, reaffirming the Security Forces’ commitment to eradicating terrorism from the region.
Tragically, on the preceding Saturday, seven valiant soldiers of the Pakistan Army, including a lieutenant colonel and a captain, made the ultimate sacrifice during a terrorist onslaught on a security post in Mir Ali, North Waziristan.
According to the military’s media wing, the attack involved six terrorists attempting to breach the post, which was bravely repelled by Pakistani troops. However, the terrorists resorted to detonating an explosive-laden vehicle and executing multiple suicide bombings, resulting in the collapse of part of the building and the loss of the brave soldiers.
In the subsequent clearance operation, led by Lieutenant Colonel Kashif, all six terrorists were effectively neutralized by own troops.
