ISLAMABAD: In a significant development, the Senate unanimously passed a resolution today, expressing unwavering support and solidarity with the Palestinian people who have long endured immense suffering.
The resolution, brought forward by Leader of the House Ishaq Dar, reaffirmed Pakistan’s principled stance of supporting the Palestinians’ inherent right to self-determination and their aspiration for an independent state of Palestine with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
The resolution strongly condemned the Israeli government’s actions, categorizing them as crimes against humanity and state terrorism.
These acts are being perpetrated against the most vulnerable members of Palestinian society, including children, women, and men, in the Gaza Strip, often referred to as the world’s largest open-air prison.
The resolution further decried the double standards and hypocrisy of those who support Israel while simultaneously opposing an immediate ceasefire in the beleaguered Gaza Strip.
Furthermore, the resolution called for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the blockade in Gaza, emphasizing the need to grant full access to the territory for all international humanitarian organizations.
