Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi’s team Asia Lions won the final of Legends League by beating World Giants by seven wickets in Qatar.
World Giants had scored 147 for 4 in the allotted overs while playing first. Jacques Kallis of South Africa stood out by scoring 78 runs.
In response, Boom Boom Afridi’s Asia Lions chased down the 148-run target for the loss of three wickets.
Tillakaratne Dilshan and Upul Tharanga from Sri Lanka scored 58 and 57 runs, respectively.
Muhammad Hafeez and Misbahul Haq scored nine runs each and remained not out.
Spinner Abdul Razzaq from Bangladesh was declared man of the match for his outstanding bowling performance.
He dismissed two players by giving only 14 runs in four overs.
Shahid Afridi gifted the trophy to the Afghan people. He said that the trophy was for Asghar Afghan and the people of Afghanistan.
