Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Belarus visit began on Wednesday as he departed Islamabad for a two-day official trip. The premier is visiting the Eastern European nation at the invitation of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko. He will stay in Belarus from April 10 to 11.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the high-level nature of the trip. PM Shehbaz Sharif’s Belarus visit includes several top officials in his delegation. Among them are Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi. Senior officials and ministers from different departments are also accompanying the Prime Minister.
This diplomatic journey follows a similar visit by President Lukashenko, who came to Pakistan in November 2024. Since then, both countries have been actively working to expand their bilateral ties. Earlier this year, in February, the 8th session of the Joint Ministerial Commission took place, helping lay the foundation for this important Shehbaz Sharif Belarus visit.
During his stay, Prime Minister Shehbaz will engage in official talks with President Lukashenko. According to the Foreign Ministry, both leaders will review progress on shared priorities. The discussions aim to build momentum in key sectors of mutual interest. The visit is expected to end with the signing of several agreements between Pakistan and Belarus.
