Shehbaz Sharif China Visit Focuses on Strengthening Economic and Strategic Cooperation

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has started his Shehbaz Sharif China visit, a four-day official trip aimed at strengthening economic ties and deepening strategic cooperation between Pakistan and China.

The prime minister departed for Hangzhou in the first phase of the Shehbaz Sharif China visit, accompanied by senior members of his cabinet, including Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and other key ministers. The government said the visit reflects Pakistan’s strong commitment to expanding cooperation with Beijing.

Officials said the Shehbaz Sharif China visit is especially significant as both countries are marking 75 years of diplomatic relations. The visit is expected to further strengthen the long-standing partnership and promote a shared vision of development and cooperation.

During his stay in Hangzhou, the prime minister will meet senior Chinese leadership and attend key business and investment events. He is also scheduled to chair a Pakistan-China business-to-business investment conference focused on IT and telecom, battery energy storage systems, and agriculture.

The Shehbaz Sharif China visit also includes meetings with major Chinese companies. The prime minister is expected to witness the signing of agreements and memorandums of understanding between business groups from both countries. He will also visit the headquarters of a leading Chinese technology company where new cooperation agreements are likely to be signed.

In the second phase of the Shehbaz Sharif China visit, the prime minister will travel to Beijing for high-level meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. Both sides will review cooperation in political, economic, and strategic areas.

The discussions will focus on the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, trade expansion, industrial cooperation, agriculture modernization, science and technology, and digital development. Officials say the talks will help accelerate CPEC-related projects and attract further Chinese investment in Pakistan.

The Shehbaz Sharif China visit is expected to enhance political trust and expand practical cooperation between the two countries. Both sides aim to further strengthen their long-standing friendship and move toward deeper economic integration.
