Shehbaz Sharif Condemns Makkah Drone Attack Attempt

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly denounced a failed drone strike targeting the Holy Site of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, calling it a shocking and inexcusable act of aggression.

In a statement posted on X, the prime minister said the nation had been deeply shaken by news of the incident. He noted that no words could truly express the pain and outrage felt across Pakistan over such a disturbing act against one of Islam’s most sacred sites.

Pakistan Lauds Saudi Forces’ Swift Response

Shehbaz Sharif specifically commended the Royal Saudi Armed Forces for their alertness and bravery in neutralizing the threat before it could cause harm. He described their response as both professional and heroic, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to safeguarding its holiest ground.

The premier did not stop at praise for Saudi security personnel. He also issued a broader appeal to regional players, urging restraint and warning against actions that could push tensions further toward conflict.

According to Sharif, the region has already paid a heavy price for years of instability and warfare. He reiterated that diplomatic engagement, not confrontation, offers the only realistic route to lasting peace in the Middle East.

Pakistan Reaffirms Support for Saudi Arabia

Closing his remarks, the prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast alliance with Saudi Arabia. He stressed that Islamabad remains fully committed to standing beside Riyadh in protecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Sharif also underlined the deep religious and emotional significance the Haramain Sharifain hold for Pakistanis, describing their protection as a responsibility felt personally by every citizen of the country.

The attempted Makkah drone attack has drawn widespread condemnation, with Pakistan’s leadership signaling that any threat to the holy sites will be viewed as a direct concern for the entire Muslim world, not just Saudi Arabia alone.
