Sheikh Rasheed’s plea against ECP’s verdict delaying polls on NA-60 rejected

RAWALPINDI: The Lahore High Court’s Rawalpindi Bench on Monday rejected a petition of Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed challenging a decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to postpone election in the city’s NA-60 constituency.
Justice Mujahid Mustaqeem of LHC’s Rawalpindi Bench upheld the ECP’s decision to postpone polling in NA-60 Rawalpindi after Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Hanif Abbasi from the constituency was convicted in ephedrine case.
In his response to the verdict, Sheikh Rasheed said that they were prepared for the election and would approach the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday against the LHC verdict.
