KARACHI: A territorial dispute has emerged between Sindh and Balochistan over the area known as ‘Kutte ki Qabar,’ located in the Kirthar Mountains along the provincial border. Both provinces are laying claim to the land.
Sindh’s senior minister, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, asserted that the area has always been part of Sindh and will remain so. Kutte ki Qabar, named after a folk tale involving a Brahui man and his dog, was added to Sindh during British rule, according to Khuhro, who cited the 1876 Gazette and the Survey of Pakistan to support his stance.
The location was also recently recognized as a protected heritage site by Sindh, adding to the significance of the dispute. Khuhro dismissed Balochistan’s claim, stating there would be no compromise on the issue.
