Bachal Ghuniyo, a local reporter for the Sindhi news channel Awaz TV, was fatally shot by unidentified gunmen in the town of Ronti, near Ghotki, on Tuesday morning.
According to police reports, Ghuniyo was in a field near his home when the assailants opened fire, killing him on the spot. His body was later transported to Ubaro Tehsil Hospital.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident, exploring whether it was a robbery or a targeted killing, with the possibility of personal motives also being considered.
Following the tragic event, journalists gathered at Ubaro Tehsil Hospital. Ghuniyo was well-known for his reporting on criminal activities in the region.
This murder occurs just two months after another journalist, Nasrullah Gadani, was also shot and killed by unidentified gunmen in Mirpur Mathelo, Sindh.
