MAINWALI: In a tragic incident, seven people, including the renowned Saraiki folk singer Sharafat Ali, lost their lives when a car plunged into a canal in Mianwali.
Rescue officials stated that the accident occurred late at night near Van Bachharan Pakka Ghanjira, an area in Mianwali, due to excessive speed.
Emergency responders swiftly retrieved the bodies from the submerged car and transported them to a nearby hospital. Among the victims was the well-known Saraiki singer Sharafat Ali Khelvi.
Reportedly, Sharafat Ali was returning home after attending a wedding ceremony. The identities of the other six individuals in the car with him remain unknown at this time.
Upon receiving the information, the police promptly arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the tragic incident. A bag containing cash, discovered in the singer’s car after the accident, was handed over to the relatives by the police.
