Bolan: The bodies of six individuals have been recovered from the Bolan region of Balochistan, highlighting the ongoing violence in the area.
According to Station House Officer (SHO) Dhadar Pir Baksh Bugti, two of the bodies were discovered buried under a damaged bridge, while four others were found at Kolpur on the national highway.
SHO Bugti reported that the victims appear to have been shot after being identified through their ID cards. The process of identifying the deceased is still ongoing, with police officials yet to confirm their identities.
This discovery follows the destruction of a railway bridge in the Dozan area of Bolan due to an explosion late last night, which caused a suspension of train traffic.
The blast resulted in the death of one person and injuries to several others. The disruption has halted trains traveling between Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Quetta, as well as those heading inland from Quetta.
Additionally, the Sindh-Balochistan national highway was blocked by armed men last night.
In a separate incident in the Rara Sham area of Musa Khel, 23 passengers were killed after being forcibly removed from their vehicles.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Musa Khel, Ayub Achakzai, confirmed that armed men blocked the inter-provincial highway, removed passengers from trucks and buses, and shot them dead.
The attackers also set fire to ten vehicles before police and Levies forces could arrive to transfer the bodies to the hospital.
Meanwhile, in response to late-night attacks across various locations in Balochistan, security forces conducted retaliatory operations, killing 12 terrorists and injuring several others.
According to reports, these operations will continue until the terrorist threat is fully neutralized. The exact locations of the attacks were not disclosed, but the security forces’ response has been described as effective.
These incidents underscore the persistent instability and violence in Balochistan, a region that continues to face significant security challenges.
