QUETTA: At least six people lost their lives, and many others were injured during intense tribal clashes in Balochistan’s Qila Abdullah, the deputy commissioner confirmed on Monday. The violent confrontation created fear in the area, forcing markets to shut down.
As soon as the administration received the alert, Levies forces rushed to the spot. They sealed off the conflict zone and shifted both the injured and the deceased to nearby hospitals. Officials expressed concern over the use of heavy weapons by both rival groups.
The deputy commissioner stated that Frontier Corps (FC) units were called in to control the unrest. Levies teams, supported by FC, surrounded the location to stop further fighting. According to the district administration, a jirga of tribal elders was later convened. The elders, along with the deputy commissioner, managed to restore peace and clear the area of armed men.
Authorities identified the deceased as members of the Badwan and Orakzai tribes. Fourteen injured individuals were taken to medical facilities in Qila Abdullah, Pishin, and Quetta for treatment.
Tot Adda, the site of the deadly tribal conflict, is now under the control of Levies and FC. Security teams continue to monitor the area to prevent any fresh outbreak of violence. The administration stressed the importance of cooperation between tribes to maintain lasting peace after the inter-tribal clashes.
