South Waziristan Jirga Vows Full Support to Security Forces Against Terrorism

The tribal elders of South Waziristan have once again pledged their unwavering support to Pakistan’s security forces. They vowed to fight alongside them until terrorism is wiped out completely.

A historic and highly significant South Waziristan jirga of the Mehsud and Burki elders took place on Sunday in Spinkai Raghzai. The Inspector General of Frontier Corps (FC) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (South) attended the meeting as the chief guest.

During the South Waziristan jirga, tribal leaders paid rich tribute to the Pakistan Army and the FC for their sacrifices in restoring peace. They reiterated their determination to remain united with the security forces until the last trace of the Khawarij — a term used for terrorists of the banned TTP — is eliminated.

The FC chief praised the unmatched sacrifices of the tribal people in the fight against the TTP. He stressed the vital role of the elders in protecting the youth from the poisonous propaganda of anti-state elements. He also acknowledged the achievements of local individuals excelling in different sectors, calling them role models for the region.

At the South Waziristan jirga, the IG FC assured the Mehsud tribes that construction on the Gurbaz–Mangrotai Road would begin soon. He said this project would improve connectivity and development in the area.

The tribal elders appreciated the Army and FC for pushing forward key development initiatives. They also praised efforts to expand educational opportunities for girls, calling it a vital step for the region’s progress. The South Waziristan jirga ended with a renewed spirit of unity and a collective stand against terrorism.
