ISLAMABAD: The special court established under the Official Secrets Act has instructed the appearance of PTI chairman and senior party leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi in the cipher case.
Special court judge Abdul Hasnaat Zulqarnain presided over the hearing of the cipher case against PTI chief Shah Mahmood Qureshi at the Judicial Complex in Islamabad. PTI chairman’s counsel, Ali Bukhari, and Khalid Yousaf were present in court.
This marked the first hearing of the cipher case at the Judicial Complex after the Islamabad High Court declared the jail trial of the accused null and void.
At the commencement of proceedings, the court inquired about the copy of the Islamabad High Court order. The court staff provided a copy of the IHC verdict in the cipher case.
During the proceedings, Judge Abdul Hasnaat, addressing Ali Bukhari, acknowledged it as a significant achievement for Bukhari. In response, Bukhari stated that he had been advocating for the same since the beginning.
Subsequently, the court, issuing an order for the production of PTI chairman and Qureshi in court on November 28, adjourned the hearing of the case.
