Suspicious Activities Revealed at the House of Khawaja Mehran, Leader of Banned Joint Action Committee

Law enforcement agencies carried out a raid at the house of Khawaja Mehran in Dadyal, Mirpur, where they uncovered weapons and other suspicious items. The operation is linked to an ongoing investigation involving a banned Joint Action Committee.

During the search, officials recovered a drone, a 12-bore gun, bullets, a pistol, and a helmet reportedly belonging to Islamabad Police. Other questionable material was also seized from the residence of Khawaja Mehran.

According to a statement from an associate of Khawaja Mehran, two ambulances were called to the house before a protest gathering. The claim suggests that weapons and other equipment were secretly moved to Muzaffarabad using these vehicles.

The associate further alleged that Khawaja Mehran transported five Kalashnikov rifles, two 12-bore guns, and a large quantity of ammunition to the protest site. He also mentioned the use of stones, glass bottles, and slingshots during protest activities.

Additional allegations include the transfer of cash and funds provided by Latif Dar for protest arrangements. It was also claimed that police shelling guns taken during a previous protest were shifted to Muzaffarabad.

The statement further alleged that Khawaja Mehran carried around two kilograms of cannabis and was accompanied by several wanted individuals and members linked to criminal groups during the protest.

Officials believe the recovery from Khawaja Mehran’s house indicates planned and organised activity. They say the evidence suggests preparations for coordinated unrest under the cover of public demonstrations.

The recovery of an Islamabad Police helmet, according to investigators, also points to earlier incidents in which law enforcement equipment was seized during clashes.
