Lahore: Fast bowler Haris Rauf is unlikely to be included in Pakistan’s 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup, according to media reports.
Sources say the decision was taken after the Asia Cup final, as Pakistan’s head coach Mike Hesson is reportedly not in favour of including the pace bowler in the World Cup setup. As a result, Haris Rauf has been kept out of the probable squad.
It is worth noting that Haris Rauf has not played any T20 International match for Pakistan since the Asia Cup. He is currently in Australia, where he is participating in the Big Bash League (BBL).
Team sources added that the management is focusing on younger bowlers and those who are regularly playing international cricket. The final squad is being selected based on current form, fitness, and consistent performances.
