ISLAMABAD: In response to a government directive, a strict three-day ultimatum has been issued for all illegal refugees and nationals residents without legal status to leave the country by October 31. The government emphasizes that there will be no extensions granted under any circumstances.
National security forces are employing advanced mapping and geofencing techniques to identify and track individuals lacking legal authorization across the country. These measures aim to bolster the overall safety and security of the nation.
The government has announced severe consequences for those failing to comply with the deadline. After November 1, any movable or immovable properties owned by illegal foreign residents will be confiscated. No provisions for reconsideration or deportation process extensions will be entertained.
In Punjab, a coordinated operation is underway to repatriate illegal immigrants with a looming deadline of October 31. Various government institutions collaborate in this nationwide effort. Teams comprising law enforcement and government officials, supported by Pakistan Rangers and other security forces, are in the final stages of identifying and documenting foreign nationals in the province.
The scrutiny of documentation is ongoing, and those unable to produce the necessary legal papers are urged to leave the country by the impending deadline. Thousands of illegal immigrants have voluntarily departed, and preparations are underway to deport them. The initial focus is on those without any documentation, with stringent measures against those using fraudulent documents.
Temporary holding areas and camps, offering shelter, food, medical care, and security, have been strategically set up. Camps distinguish between male and female residents, ensuring respectful treatment. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) staffs registration desks equipped with specialized software developed by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) for efficient processing.
Efforts to facilitate transportation from camps to designated border crossing points are underway. Legal actions will be taken against Pakistani citizens involved in business or harboring illegal foreign nationals.
Additionally, thousands of Afghan citizens are returning home daily, crossing the Torkham and Chaman borders. On October 27 alone, 5046 Afghan citizens, including 1241 men, 1052 women, and 2753 children, were transported by 153 vehicles in 310 families, totaling 81,974 repatriated Afghan refugees thus far.
