Three soldiers from the Frontier Constabulary (FC) lost their lives in the Mastung blast on Tuesday. The deadly explosion targeted a police truck in Shamsabad, a locality in Balochistan’s troubled Mastung district. More than a dozen others sustained injuries.
According to officials, at least 16 FC personnel were hurt. Two of the wounded remain in critical condition. All injured have been moved to Quetta for urgent treatment.
In response to the Mastung blast, the Balochistan government has imposed an emergency at Bolan Medical Complex and Civil Hospital Quetta. Ambulances rushed the injured from the scene, while medical teams prepared to handle the crisis.
Government spokesperson Shahid Rind stated that the security vehicle was en route from Kalat through the RTC route. It was struck by an improvised explosive device (IED), clearly marking this as a targeted act of terror.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has directed Health Minister Bakht Kakar to personally oversee the treatment of the victims. The CM emphasized the importance of quality healthcare for those hurt in the Mastung blast. He also issued a stern warning that any negligence in medical care will not be tolerated.
Calling the fallen soldiers martyrs, the spokesperson affirmed full support from the provincial government. “The Balochistan government stands with the families of the fallen,” he added, mourning the Mastung blast victims.
The attack has once again raised concerns about the deteriorating security situation in the province. Similar bombings and terror attacks have rocked Mastung in the past. This tragic Mastung explosion only adds to the region’s long list of violent incidents.
Authorities continue to investigate the bombing. No group has claimed responsibility for the Mastung blast so far.
