QUETTA: At least three people were shot dead in a targeted attack on members of Hazara community in Quetta here on Monday.
According to reports, the incident took place outside passport office located on Quetta’s Joint Road where unknown gunmen opened fire on people of Hazara community.
Police and rescue officials said the firing left three people dead on the spot and injured two others. A policeman was also among the victims.
Rescue teams shifted the bodies to civil hospital for medico-legal formalities as security forces cordoned off the area.
Police said it was a ‘targeted attack’ on Hazara community members.
The attack comes a day after a bomb went off during rush hours in city’s Bach Khan square, a busy market place, killing one person and wounding 19 others.
Yesterday, unidentified armed assailants gunned down three labourers in Pasani area of Balochistan’s Gwadar district.
Local Levies sources said armed assailants attacked a construction company camp in the area killing three labourers on the spot.
Identity of the labourers could not be ascertained.
