ISLAMABAD: Three police officers were suspended for taking bribe from a citizen who was sitting in the car.
the District Inspector General (DIG) Operations of Islamabad police has suspended three police officers who took bribe from a citizen in Sector G-11 of the federal capital.
The video went viral and DIG acted against those police officers.
The citizen alleged that the officers demanded a bribe of Rs20,000 from him while he was parked in Sector G-11, citing the absence of proper documentation for his vehicle. Furthermore, they purportedly threatened to impound his car at the police station if he failed to comply with their demands.
According to the citizen, after reluctantly paying a bribe of Rs10,000, he was permitted to leave with his vehicle. Consequently, the three police officers involved—identified as Riaz Jalal, Muhammad Nawaz, and Zaheer Ahmed—have been suspended pending further investigation.
