ISLAMABAD: Security forces killed three terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Razmak area of North Waziristan district, bordering Afghanistan in the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region, the army’s media wing said on Friday,
The operation took place in the Razmak area of North Waziristan District, bordering Afghanistan in the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region. It targeted a reported presence of Khwarij, according to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement.
During the operation, there was an intense exchange of fire between the security forces and Khwarij from the Fitna al Khawarij group, also known as the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). As a result, three Khwarij were killed, and one was injured.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the deceased militants, who were known for their involvement in terrorist activities and attacks on civilians.
The area is being sanitized to ensure no additional militants remain, as security forces are committed to eradicating Khwarij and terrorism from the region, ISPR added.
Earlier on Thursday, Pakistan’s security forces had killed seven Khwarij of Fitna Al Khawarij during an intelligence-based operation in the Kurram district of northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
