ISLAMABAD – A shocking incident unfolded in the capital as a TikTok star was murdered inside her home in Sector G-13/1. The victim, 17-year-old Sana Yousaf, had over 740,000 followers on TikTok and had just celebrated her birthday.
The tragic event took place on Monday at 5 PM. Sana was alone at home with her aunt. Her mother had stepped out to buy groceries, while her father was away for work. Her younger brother had gone to Chitral after completing his exams.
Police sources confirmed that a young man visited Sana that afternoon. He reportedly knew her, and the two had a brief conversation. During that talk, Sana told him, “Go away from here. There are cameras all around. I will fetch you some water.” Seconds later, he shot her twice in the chest.
Her aunt, the only witness, rushed to her aid but it was too late. The suspect fled the scene immediately.
Sana’s body was shifted to PIMS Hospital for a postmortem. Police from Sumbal Station are handling the case.
Her mother later filed an FIR under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code. She claimed that she would be able to recognize the murderer if she saw him again.
So far, no arrest has been made in this case. Authorities are waiting for the autopsy report. Investigations are ongoing.
This is not the first case where a TikTok star was murdered in Pakistan. Violence against female influencers continues to rise.
Recently, a female TikToker was killed by her cousin in Khushab. In another case in February, a social media influencer was found dead in her home in Peshawar.
In January, a man in Quetta killed his daughter, who was born in the United States, for making TikTok videos. According to police, the family objected to her clothing and online content.
A similar tragedy occurred in Sialkot last year, when a brother murdered his sister over her online presence.
The murder of yet another TikTok star has sparked concern across social media platforms. It reflects a disturbing trend.
Police say they are actively investigating Sana Yousaf’s case. But the killing of social media influencers is raising new questions about safety and the cost of fame.
