Tirah Valley Operation: Displacement of Residents to Begin from January 10

Preparations for a security operation in Tirah Valley, located in Khyber district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, are underway as the displacement of local residents is set to begin from January 10.

According to official sources, the registration process for families relocating from the Maidan area of Malik Deen Khel in Tirah Valley has been ongoing for the past three days. A special registration centre has been established in Paindi Cheena, where affected families are being registered under a scheduled plan.

So far, more than 2,500 families have been registered. Of these, 176 families have already received initial financial assistance of Rs250,000 per family after clearance from NADRA and other relevant departments. Authorities confirmed that advance financial aid is also being provided to the remaining registered families.

The district administration stated that the formal relocation process will continue from January 10 to January 25. Each displaced family will receive Rs250,000 as advance assistance, along with Rs50,000 per month to arrange accommodation of their choice.

Officials further said that the security operation against militants in the area is expected to be completed within two months. The return and rehabilitation of affected families will begin from April 5 after the completion of the operation.

According to authorities, the total population of the Maidan area in Tirah Valley is approximately 130,000 people. Compensation has also been announced for property damage during the operation. Families whose houses are completely destroyed will receive Rs3 million, while those with partially damaged houses will be compensated with Rs1 million.
