ISLAMABAD: In light of the ongoing construction of the underpass at Dhookri Serena Chowk, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has issued a traffic diversion plan to manage the flow of vehicles and minimize disruption. Motorists are advised to follow alternative routes as the construction work progresses.
For those traveling from the Red Zone to Murree Road and the Express Highway, ITP suggests using Shahrah-e-Dastoor, France Turn, Jinnah Convention Centre, Kashmir Chowk, and Club Road.
Motorists heading from Bhara Kahu or Murree to the Red Zone are directed to enter through the Bari Imam Barrier Point, using Quaid-e-Azam University Road from Murree Road.
Drivers from sectors G-6, G-7, and F-7 to Bhara Kahu or Murree should use 7th Avenue and the Chand Tar Flyover, traveling via Garden Avenue on Murree Road.
For those coming from the motorway or Srinagar Highway heading towards Bhara Kahu or Murree, the route via Expressway and Murree Road through the Faizabad Bridge is recommended.
To access the motorway from Bhara Kahu or Murree, motorists should use Murree Road, Kashmir Chowk, Club Road, Faizabad, and then the Srinagar Highway.
For those traveling from the Expressway to the Red Zone, the recommended route includes Zero Point, Srinagar Highway, 7th Avenue, and Jinnah Avenue.
To travel from the Red Zone (F-6, F-7, G-6, G-7) to the Expressway, motorists should take 7th Avenue, the Chand Tara Flyover, and use the Srinagar Highway.
Motorists coming from D-12, E-11, F-10, and F-11 wishing to reach Jinnah Avenue, Blue Area, or the Red Zone should use Margalla Road.
For residents of G-10, G-11, G-12, G-13, and G-14, 7th Avenue and Faisal Avenue from Srinagar Highway will be the best route to reach Jinnah Avenue, Blue Area, or the Red Zone.
Additionally, Nadra Chowk, Express Chowk, Ayub Chowk, and Baghala Road will remain open for entry to the Red Zone from Embassy Road.
Citizens are encouraged to avoid unnecessary travel to the construction site and to follow the traffic regulations to ensure a smooth flow for all road users.
