The bus, with 53 passengers including 14 women, was en route to Arbaeen when the incident occurred. The convoy, which included two buses, had one bus involved in the crash while the other lagged behind due to paperwork issues. The crisis management director for Yazd confirmed the deaths of 11 women and 17 men, with seven injured in critical condition.
