Transport Fare Update Brings Major Relief as Bus Ticket Prices Drop Across Pakistan

Transport fare update

A transport fare update across Pakistan has brought relief to passengers as intercity bus ticket prices have been reduced following a decline in petroleum product prices.

Transport authorities have revised fares on several major routes, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Multan, Abbottabad, and Dera Ismail Khan. The new rates aim to pass on the benefit of lower fuel prices directly to commuters.

According to an official notification, the fare for travel to Karachi has been reduced from Rs5,060 to Rs4,150, marking a decrease of Rs910. The Karachi to Hyderabad route has also seen a significant cut, with fares dropping from Rs4,720 to Rs3,870.

The transport fare update follows a reduction in fuel prices, with transport operators instructed to implement the revised rates across all affected routes.

Other cities have also benefited from the fare revision. Travel to Rahim Yar Khan now costs Rs1,830 instead of Rs2,230, while the Multan fare has been reduced from Rs1,850 to Rs1,520.

For smaller routes, the fare for Pakpattan has dropped from Rs1,300 to Rs1,070, and Haveli Lakha from Rs1,330 to Rs1,090, offering additional relief to daily travelers.

Northern and western routes have also seen reductions. The fare for Abbottabad has been cut from Rs3,550 to Rs2,400, while Dera Ismail Khan now costs Rs3,350 instead of Rs3,450.

Officials said the transport fare update is designed to ensure that lower fuel costs are fully passed on to passengers. Transport operators have been directed to strictly follow the revised fares.

Authorities added that monitoring teams will ensure compliance so that passengers are not overcharged on any route.
