Florida: US President Donald Trump has once again praised Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, also referring to efforts to prevent a potential war between Pakistan and India.
Addressing a press conference in Florida alongside the US Secretary of Defense and Secretary of the Navy, Trump spoke about stopping a Pakistan-India conflict and mentioned the downing of aircraft during tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
Trump claimed that he has so far prevented eight wars worldwide, including a possible nuclear war between Pakistan and India. He said that during the conflict, eight aircraft were shot down.
The former US president stated that Pakistan’s Field Marshal is a highly respected personality and added that Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged that by halting the war, around 10 million lives were saved.
During the press conference, Trump also announced the construction of Trump-class naval ships, claiming they would be 100 times more powerful.
He said that 15 submarines are currently under construction and claimed that the United States is 15 years ahead of any other country in submarine technology. He asserted that China and Russia cannot compete with the US in submarine development and that these submarines would instill fear among America’s enemies worldwide.
Trump further stated that a ship named “Victory” would help maintain US military strength and revive the American shipbuilding industry.
He added that the US Navy is being transformed into the world’s most powerful naval force, its headquarters are also being upgraded, and remarked that countries that once mocked the US now show respect.
